Congrats to all the athletes that competed this weekend for Festivus Games, it was a great event! Everyone showed great heart and dedication for representing our community. I'm grateful to know how hard everyone worked. This upcoming Saturday we are hosting an Olympic Weightlifting meet - if you are planning to compete we will be tapering our intensity and weight. Focus on technique!
Today's strength portion may seem technical in nature, but review the video below and the movement should makes sense. Muscle Snatches are similar to the push press in the finish with a wider grip, but has a starting position of either from the floor or from the hang.
The run and deadlift combo for today's metcon should be done at a steady pace, with intensity being pushed hard towards the later half. We do not want to come out the gate too hard at the start of this one. 16 minutes can last a long time with only two movements.
New Personal Records galore last week from achieving double unders to new hitting new clean totals. I'm going to start leaving a paper or whiteboard at the front desk. If you set a new PR, mark it down there. I want to announce it to our box, because that's something to be excited about!
